Character History/FPK
Tim is the youngest of his branch of the Bells, and spent quite a few years as the youngest in the entire Bell family. Surrounded with mostly his sisters, female cousins, and a doting mother, "coddled" is probably the best word for his childhood. This also had a lot to do with the fact that at the age of four he developed a rather pronounced stammer, one that failed to grow better with age.
He remained close to his sisters, moreso to his oldest sister Catherine than to his middle sister Caroline, who he kept a sizable distance from due to her sharp tongue. The distance would be readily evident to anyone who watched the two, as would the closing of the distance when Catherine died. The two are now much closer, though they argue much more for that fact.
By the time Tim was due to reach Hogwarts, he had his stammer under control, mostly by means of staying quiet and only speaking when he knew exactly what he was going to say and prepared to say it. When forced to speak or put on the spot, Tim would stumble over his words and occasionally stammer, but most likely it was chalked up to nerves and not to an actual speech difficulty.
He was sorted into Ravenclaw and kept to himself, studying to become a Healer like the rest of his family and especially wrapped up in the pursuit of complementary medicine research, which meant one foot had to lie in the Muggle world (all three of the Bells in his family took O-Levels and A-Levels as well as OWLs and NEWTs). He played Beater for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and though he was asked to play on English U-21, he refused, as well as any other teams who asked after him.
His love life was never very interesting -- he crushed on a number of girls but never managed to follow through. He failed to form any sort of coherent relationship while in Hogwarts or even in Healer training, and stuck to periodic doses of sex with women who would essentially have to crawl into his lap and not manage to scare the living daylights out of him.
Upon leaving Hogwarts, he entered Healer training, identifying a year in that he wanted to work in Artifact Accidents. During this time he roomed with then Auror-trainee Sarah Frobisher in a totally platonic arrangement, moving out soon after he finished his fourth year of Healer training.
Tim spent the rest of his life focused totally on medicine, practically living inside St Mungo's, and aided Catherine (alongside Caroline) in researching and publishing a number of articles on complementary medicine (the two have never written anything by themselves, but have authorship and research credit on Catherine's articles). He developed a terrible sort of crush on Autumn Lathrop, which ended unfortunately, and he will not talk about this to this very day.
Soon after, he began sleeping with Caroline's sister-in-law, Tess Summers, Holyhead Harpy. The minute it approached something serious, Tess broke it off. This is relatively public knowledge. Soon after that, with the encouragement of Sarah Frobisher, he proceeded to make a move on Corinne Delacour, who he had always had an eye on. The two have been dating ever since, and have met each other's families.
At this point, Tim suspects he may have fathered Tess's child, despite Tess's claims he didn't. He would not speak this suspicion out loud, but it's probably written all over his face.
