Character History

Mahima first appeared on August 13, 1977 (Leviosa!Present - March 13, 2005-Present) with her family at their house in Dover as an excited pre-first year. She was sorted into Ravenclaw on September 1, 1977 and became very fast friends with the youngest of the Calhoun clan, Maggie Calhoun.

With no new canon to contend with after the HBP release, she remained a happy go lucky and very loud first year who was often found with her friend Maggie. Together they played Wizard's Chess and usually argued in conjunction with somebody, anybody - Henrietta Hinkle (aka Hettie) and Faustus Fudge, usually. Hettie had a crush on Professor Doge and that usually led to potshots about hearts in the margin of her parchment.

On the night of March 22, 1978 (October 22, 2005-Present), Mahima's parents and her little brother and sister were killed by Death Eaters because of Vincent's part in a protest to open up India's closed borders. Mahima was spared because she was at school. Elphias Doge became Mahima's guardian, and the two of them, rather than deciding to live in a flat in a city, or in the house in Dover where she'd lived (and he'd also lived, as a child), they now live in Wiltshire, in a spacious old house.

General Knowledge of Hogwarts Students:

Mahima Doge is an ickle Ravenclaw (at least a second year, because Ravenclaw wasn't this loud before then), of Indian descent (probably on her mother's side, because she is Professor Doge's niece and he doesn't look at all Indian). They probably know that her family was killed by Death Eaters because it involved their Professor, also. She and Maggie Calhoun are usually found one right after the other, and you will probably hear them before you see them.

General Knowledge of Year/Housemates:

Mahima (and Maggie) are LOUD second years who are usually up to something no good. They'd know about her family, etc. Grant Bulstrode is the one who tirelessly tells them to tone it down. She is half-Indian on her mother's side, and half-blooded.

General Knowledge of Friends:

Just because of how much she talks and how open she is, I think there's not a lot that Maggie will not have heard and know, at least in passing. Whether or not she remembers it is another banana totally. She has trouble reading and writing because she mixes her letters up (dyslexia). But she makes up for it by being very enthusiastic about learning and usually uses exclamation points wherever she can - even in class essays. *pretends she hasn't done that*

Secrets:

Mahima was really taken back when Maggie used the word "Mudblood." She's been taught that isn't a word for polite conversation, and she was really afraid that she was a regular user of that word.

Miscellaneous

• Mahima is dyslexic, and has trouble with reading and writing.
• Mahima is a semi-practicing Hindu, but eats meat (except for beef). Vincent and Darika did not eat meat, but they fed their children meat because of development.
