Character History

Magnus Flint has survived the test of time and the character transformation of his wife, Florence Flint. During the darker periods of Leviosa History, Florence Flint was Florence Giovanni Flint, but she has since become Florence Thicknesse Flint.

Magnus played Chaser for the Slytherin team at Hogwarts and became captain during the 1975-1976 school term. He turned down the opportunity to play professionally and instead went to work for Flint Cauldrons. The death of his father, Gabriel Flint, undoubtedly affected his decision to work for the family business. He eloped with Florence on 16 July 1977.

Magnus and Florence moved into Edwina Espis's old house. They shared the responsibility of the Flint family house elf, Mopsy (who is also called Hopsy with no real differentiation), with other members of the older generation.

Florence Flint was abducted while doing work for the Department of International Magical Cooperation on 25 July 1979. She was recovered on 29 December 1979.

Unfortunately on 14 September 1979, in his wife's absence, Magnus Flint was approached by Patrick McCormack on behalf of the Death Eaters. Patrick asked Magnus to remain quiet on the issue of Walden Macnair's murder attempts. The conversation turned into a recruiting attempt, and after Patrick McCormack revealed that he had been responsible for the death of Gabriel Flint, Magnus murdered him. Magnus Flint called upon Alastor Moody. He and Sturgis Podmore set up the scene to make it look as if it was Magnus's body that was recovered and Patrick McCormack's was never found. Patrick previously been publicly believed to be deceased, and that status now transferred to Magnus.

Magnus lived in a flat with Alastor Moody until 27 May 1979, when Magnus decided to leave the country. He moved to Seattle, Washington. For a brief time he was legally married to Sylvia Switch Twinkleton, an elderly woman who was living in a hospice, in order to gain legal citizenship. He inherited a house from her in Puget Sound and now lives in that house.

The closest friend he has made in Washington is Dawn Campbell.

His immediate family knows that he is alive and living in Alastor Moody's home. They know that he did not actually die but killed Patrick McCormack, Gabriel Flint's murderer, instead.
