Character History
Orginally, Lauren was a 1975 Hufflepuff, but after the mass Levycanon recon, she was placed in 1976 Slytherin. She is and was best friends with Florence Flint. She was friends also with Regan Robins, Helena Bletchley, Magnus Flint, and Stephen Calhoun. During school she slept around with both Magnus Flint and Stephen Calhoun although their relationship was never serious if it could be considered a relationship at all.
After school, she was invited to join the Experimental Charms Committee thanks to her abnormally high Charms NEWT (although, nowhere near the high score of Hestia Jones' Charms NEWT) and has worked there ever since.
Her family is also very loyal to the Ministry and each other. They are mildly purist, although her mother's family more so than the Hoopers themselves.
For Player Knowledge (FPK)
One: What characters should know about your character. What they infer from that is up to them.
Lauren Hooper was a pretty '76 Slytherin and is best friends with Florence Thicknesse Flint. She is also friends with Sarah Mulciber Smith, Helena Bletchley, and Regan Robins (all of which were in her dorm). She has two older sisters, Lydia and Annabeth, and a younger sister, Amanda, and a younger brother, Thomas. She was the only Slytherin in her extended family. She's engaged to Sam Frobisher.
While she was at school, she slept around a little bit, but she was by far not 'easy'. She slept with Stephen Calhoun and Magnus Flint pretty freely, she never actually dated either of them. Her close friends would know that she was very fond of Stephen while they were still sleeping together. She slept with Magnus until he began his relationship with Florence, which was during seventh year.
She actually didn't start 'branching' out more, dating other blokes, until after she left school and wasn't around her tight knit circle of friends nearly as much. Important to note though, Lauren has probably only been with eight or nine different people, including Sam.
Lauren was invited to join the ECC in March 1977. She preformed quite well on her Charms NEWT and was also somewhat impressive in Arithmancy. Her other marks were decent enough, but she was not Prefect material and she did not apply herself at all while during school. Her social life was definitely more important to her.
She is also very much a girl and as Magnus said she's never come home from shopping with fewer than four shopping bags. This would be known to anyone Lauren has ever really gotten to know. However, on the other hand, Lauren doesn't talk to people that she has no reason to. She's not overly friendly, unless she has a reason to be. She is the type to buy people expensive presents that she can't really afford. She always brings her niece a present when she visits.
As her friends and family know, especially her family, Lauren can be very manipulative. She doesn't like giving straight answers to questions, even if she has nothing to hide. She will literally talk her way around an answer, so that it seems as if she's given an answer, but she really hasn't. She is also fairly self-obsessed.
Her close friends (and Jack) would know that she utterly loathes Marquesa Giovanni.
Two: What characters should not know about your character. This should be adhered to firmly.
Lauren did not take the Magnus death very well. Her best friend was close to death, or dead, or just not in England and then her best friend's husband died, whom she was also close to. It's up to Kitty, whether or not Sam knew that Lauren went to the Magnus funeral, but she went alone. After that is when Lauren became more serious with Sam and she distanced herself from her friends because Magnus was still painful to discuss. Although, the feeling I get was that it wasn't just Lauren who distanced herself, but it was sort of a mutual thing among the '76 Slytherin clique.
Jack knows what has gone on between her and Sam in the past week. *sigh* Also, her parents and aunt and uncle, would not know that she still talks to Jack. Her older sisters may or may not know either.
And once Trish and I figure something out there will be more here. But they are not cooperating.

1. What is your full name?
Lauren Catherine Hooper
2. Where and when were you born?
29 May 1958 in Cumbria
3. Who are your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Carson and Pamela (Davies) Hooper. Dad is the Head of Hit Wizards and there is some talk about him taking Apollo Jones' place in the Ministry. Dad is pretty easy going and fair. He was never very strict with us, and well, it helps that I'm his favorite, right? He's even nice to Bill Whitby and after what he did...yikes. But anyway, Dad isn't really elitist or anything, he's pretty nonbiased against Muggleborns and Muggles, but they're not his favorite. Mum on the underhand is the opposite, she was always much more strict with all of us and expect a lot from us. She and her brother, my Uncle Stuart, really run the family, and he's the family patriarch so there you are. Granted, I got out a lot of it because I had the 'right' friends for Mum during school, but I was Slytherin.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are they like?
Four. Lydia, 1971 Gryffindor, Annabeth, 1973 Gryffindor, Amanda, 1981 Gryffindor, and Thomas, 1982 Hufflepuff.
Lydia is pretty much, well, she's a bitch, but in the worst way. She almost married a halfblood who left her for a Muggle. She was willing to give up everything for him and then he just left her. But anyway, she's a Hit Witch and everything anyone says about them is true for her.
Annabeth is a mum to the cutest little girl that I've ever seen in my entire life, Alicia. But Annabeth is just a happy person and just lovely period. She probably more than makes up for me. And, well, Lydia.
Amanda is probably the most like Annabeth, only a lot more fucking awkward. I try to send her things every now and again, but I don't think that she really likes them. She's quiet and Dad's favorite, probably because she actually listens to what Dad has to say, unlike the rest of us. Well, except for Annabeth.
Thomas is a fuck.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
6. What is your occupation?
I'm a member of the Experimental Charms Committee.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm around 5'8ish, thin but don't worry, I do have to work to stay this thin, blonde, and I have brown eyes. I'm pretty, I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not. My hair tends towards the curlier side, but there's nothing I can't handle about it. I have a tattoo of a star on my lower back that I got between sixth and seventh year. I tend to freckle instead of tan, although I can get tan. I have a scar on my leg that I got trying to fly first year, that was thanks to Magnus Flint. I really do hate the way my toes look in summer shoes though. I'm not above admitting that my hands and feet are not my best features.
8. To which social class do you belong?
Our family is middle, thanks to Dad being just a Hit Wizard most of our lives. The family has a bit more money now. I make a decent amount myself, it's nothing to sneeze at. Of course, if I didn't have a weakness for shoes, I might have more.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I have a horrible allergy to peanuts.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like?
It's sort of higher pitched, but not enough to make it annoying. My accent has a bit of a slight Scottish tone to it since we grew up in Cumbria. Even though, Mum is Welsh, but that's where we live.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
'Fuck', okay I have a dirty mouth. (And mind at that.) But I don't think that there is anything I overuse.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
My wand and a pocket guide to wards.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I don't think that I do, but what do I know? I tend to tell things like they are and I don't really talk to people if I don't have a reason to. I don't know if those are defining characteristics, but they are part of me. Thomas calls me a 'fucking bitch' all the time, but he's a right bastard, so I'm not sure that he really has room to talk. I also don't take life seriously, because what is the point if you're not having fun? Isn't that what it is about? And anyway, it makes life more interesting, even though it gets harder and harder now a days with everything that's going on. But I do my best to try.
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Fairly happy. Really. I grew up around my now disowned cousin, Jack. And the two of us managed to get in trouble enough to keep life interesting. Then while I was in school, I was friends with Regan, Helena, Stephen, Magnus, and Florence and that was always fun. We were generally happy, well, until Magnus's dad died, but I still have a lot of good memories from school.
16. What is your earliest memory?
I don't know. I'm trying to think, but it's hard, a lot of my childhood runs together. It might be when I was two and was at the park playing with Lydia and Annabeth, Mrs Warrington was there, too. Nothing amazing happened, but I think that's my earliest memory.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Seven years.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Of course, I did. There wasn't much about school not to like. I had good friends and we had a good time together.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
School and I've done a lot of Charms research on my own. After I was invited to join in 1977, I've worked very hard making sure that they still want me. I take my work quite seriously, even though I don't take much else.
