Character History
Kingsley Shacklebolt was born the second child to Clarence and Ashley Shacklebolt, both pureblood wizards, on January 14, 1961. His older sister Beverly, was four years old at the time. He had a normal childhood in a middle class wizarding family. He was six when Beverly left for school, so the two never really bonded as friends, but still respected each other as siblings.
When he finally got the opportunity to go to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Ravenclaw, which wasn't much of a surprise, as young Kingsley used to spend hours pouring over his parents' book collection and retaining an absurd amount of information. He managed to make good friends with Takiyah Burke, Kennilworthy Whisp and one other Ravenclaw who made up the Fearsome Foursome, who terrorized their fellow students for the first couple of years, but sometime around the death of Beverly Shacklebolt, the group fell somewhat apart. They're still friends, but they've put distance between them during the past year.
Beverly Shacklebolt was murdered toward the end of Kingsley's fifth year. His parents adamantly refuse to admit that politics could have played any part in her death, that it was just a mere incident that cost their daughter's life. Kingsley's not so sure, and as a result, he's wary of Muggles, an issue that he's slowly attempting to resolve.
The murder of his sister completely changed Kingsley. He refused to stand by and let life pass him without experiencing it. He also began to harbor bitterness toward anyone who did not understand his emotions in dealing with his sister's death. He began acting out and smoking heavily, not caring what anyone thought.
The only friend to truly stay by him during this time was Takiyah. She was his confidante and best friend until the two started dating the spring of their sixth year. The relationship lasted nearly a year until Takiyah suddenly broke it off without much warning.
Since the end of school in 1979, Kingsley has shown great promise as an Auror Trainee and recently become a full fledged Auror. He lived with Gwyn Bulstrode and dated Alyssa MacDonald for brief period of time before reconciling with Takiyah.
