Affiliations: None; decidedly anti-Death Eater. Protestant unionist loyalties, fervently anti-IRA, still has Pinkstone-style political beliefs in the wizarding world. Irish Quidditch, Ballycastle Bats, Irish U-21 and Cork Saints.

Other Relatives of Note: Finbar Quigley (paternal uncle), see Quigley and soon to be Wadcock. Also notable that her father is dating Lexi Nowles, so there is a wonderful Brady Bunch effect: see Nowles. The Quigley kids are first cousins once removed to the Calhoun kids: this link is not actually known to any of the kids, only the parents involved, as Dermot was disowned after he married Rachel and Finbar is quite distant as well.
Description
Dyed dark hair, brown eyes, athletic and very much the outdoorsy type. About 5'6" but likely seems taller (and is much taller in tarty heels). Used to wear mostly hand-me-downs from her brother or football jerseys/shorts when outside of Hogwarts, barely wore skirts unless forced. Now her wardrobe is somewhat girlier and certainly updated, but not by much. (In a particularly girly move, when she got her tattoo [it says 'Vive ut vivas' across her formerly cursed arm], she also got her ears pierced.) She used to barely brush her hair, now she actually puts effort in, and wore no makeup until her fifth year, and even then very little; she's wearing a reasonable but noticeable amount now.
The difference, if photographed, between her sixth year and now is probably quite striking.
Character History
Gilly Quigley was born to Rachel and Dermot Quigley in 1962, in Londonderry/Derry, North Ireland. Rachel's family, the Kanes, were a politically important family in Derry -- they are firm Protestants and unionists to this day. Rachel's father, Gilly and Matt's grandfather, is an MP, and the rest of the family is politically involved as well. The Quigleys have a strong Quidditch legacy, linked to Dermot's father, Rory, who became a legend of sorts in his career with the Ballycastle Bats (a legacy his son Finbar means to carry on). Both Rachel and Dermot were disowned or estranged from their families after they married, so the Quigley children were born into a penny-pinching barely middle class upbringing that only improved by the time they reached Hogwarts age. Overall this explains a lot about the Quigleys.
Though she hoped to follow her brother into Gryffindor, Gilly was sorted into Ravenclaw, where she became quick friends with Gwyn Bulstrode and Anne Mullet. For the first couple of years, they were all very close friends. The drama of their fourth year is well-documented. She befriended Julia Curenton (then Flint) and later Dagny Edwards (then Nowles) as well. Until the end of her sixth year, she was probably best known as the loud, obnoxious, slightly violent and completely unsubtle Quidditch chick
