Character History

Ellen was born the third of three girls, three years after her sister Elizabeth and seven after her sister Edith.    From a young age, she always showed a wonderment about how things worked.  Her parents were very proud of their intelligent daughter, but they never showed it, due to them not wanting to give her or any of their children impossible egos.  It also came as a surprise and perhaps a bit of relief when Ellen showed that she was the most self-sufficient of all of their children.  Ellen preferred playing alone to playing with her cousins, she was more often than not, found head-first in a book.   Perhaps because of this, they took advantage and once Ellen left Hogwarts, they were comfortable leaving her on her own or with various family members while they persued their own interests.

While Ellen followed her sister Edith into Ravenclaw, that is as much as they have in common.  Edith, while still enjoying reading and learning, took other interests, such as boys, dating, make-up, and Witch Weekly, Ellen remained steadfast in her attention to her schoolwork.  

She is unsure when it comes to relationships with others.  She doesn't know how to react to certain things, so instead of dealing, she dives into a book, preferring to ignore her own emotions as they make her feel uncomfortable and insecure.  She's not nessecarily the best person to go to with a personal problem, she doesn't know what to say most of the time.
