Character History
For Player Knowledge (FPK)
Quidditch writer. Very tall (between 6'4" and 6'5") and a string bean, but has grown into it and is significantly less awkward than he once was. Known for having a bit of a personality to his writing, but still nothing compared to meeting him in person. He spends a lot of his money on parties, alcohol, and pot, but will share with anyone who'll keep him company. Turned out to be writing the same couple of teams that Lasair Connolly did during the 1976-1977 season, and the unofficial dueling articles written over the course of this was where both made their names.
Spent most of his time at school either obsessing over Quidditch, begging people for tutoring or homework help (his essays were well-written, but not well-researched) and being Quidditch announcer. He was friends with just about anyone who'd have him (just as he is now), but remained on the fringe of the Matt-Tess-Kenny triumverate. When Matt and Kenny were being best mates, he would occasionally look after Tess.
He had a long-standing and absurd amount of chemistry with Rebecca Shelley over the latter part of their Hogwarts years. Her purity -- or his impurity, depending on which side you're looking at -- got in the way, though, so nothing happened, as far as most people know.
It is likely suspected by the '74ers and any '75ers who care that Becca and Dewi probably had a slight thing for a while -- when exactly is the question. Neither of them told any explicit details about any of their encounters to anyone.
Nothing in fact happened until the week of NEWTs, when Rebecca lost her virginity to him. They "dated" (aka, lots of no-strings sex) in INTENSE secrecy, on and off, until 1977, when she broke it off and refused to answer any communication from him. Months later she found out she was pregnant, and she found herself on the fringe of her family after she had her daughter Katherine "Katie" Shelley.
ONLY Rebecca Shelley knew that Dewi was Katie's father, and for this reason she refused to let her family or the baby's father be told of her death. Dewi has no idea that Katie exists.
'74 and the world in general knows that Dewi was utterly wrecked by Becca's death and only recovered upon a firm intervention by his family months later.
