Character History
Archer was invented in 1979 when Fabian Flint needed to be Cursebroken. He was a professor at Hogwarts during the 1979-1980 school year. He married Mary Bowman over Christmas Hols/New Year's in 1979-1980.
He took a job working as a Cursebreaker in Egypt after his tenure at Hogwarts, but after a month of not being able to balance his work and his marriage, he moved back to England and took a job at the MLE for the DFDL. He worked in the DFDL until 18 January 1982. He quit this job in hopes of easing marital tensions with his wife, Mary Bowman. Mary filed for divorce on 24 January 1982 after Archer went to New Zealand for Gringotts.

Archer Bowman dated Viva Switch through the end of his sixth year and a large part of his seventh year.
During the first week of March, 1970, Slytherins Pierrick Vaisey, Amira Marchbanks, and Daphne Runcorn decided to put a tracking charm on him and do whatever they could to inconvenience him and generally annoy him. The three Slytherins found Archer and Viva up to no good in the empty Divination classroom after hours. Viva was without her top and the two were in a rather compromising position. The three Slytherins made it a point to let the entire school know of this event. It was known to anyone in the classes of 1976-1970 who happened to have been paying attention to the gossip at the time, and would also now be known to anyone who was reading John Pucey, Daphne Urquhart, or Archer's own journals on the night of 31 January 1981.
